Carter signed -- 11 years, $5.27m/year

The rumors proved to be true, and it is being reported today that Carter has signed an 11-year contract for $5.27m/year.

Let me just take a moment to pat myself on the back for my salary prediction being pretty much spot on.

Also, Carter is not a true number 1 center IMO due to his lack of a any kind of passing or physical game, but he is a quality player no doubt and a $5.27 cap hit won't handicap the team if Carter is going through his up and down scoring streaks.

  2. It's hard to complain at that salary, but I have fresh memories of Carter's disappearance in the playoffs.

  3. Well he was playing hurt last year in the playoffs, though his ability to capitalize on half chances with the tighter defenses in the playoffs will say a lot about just how good he is in the long run.

His playoffs points/game is much lower than his regular season points/game the last few seasons. Not uncommon, but not what you want to see from your "go-to" guys either.
